The Serang Monastery Committee is building the Bihi Birth Center—a beacon of hope. Generously funded by the Merck Family Foundation through Human Care & Education e.V. The initial phase, marked by a land-cutting smoke puja ceremony by Venerable Tulku Karma Rinpoche, began months ago. In response to the urgent need for maternal care in our community, the Serang Monastery Committee is thrilled to announce the initiation of the Bihi Birth Center project! More than a building, it's a beacon of hope for our community.
Envisioned as a two-story facility, the Bihi Birth Center aims to provide comprehensive care with six purposefully designed rooms. The ground floor features a birthing room, kitchen, and an equipment/checkup room, while the first floor houses the nurse's bedroom, a store room, and a pharmacy.
Emphasizing functionality, each room measures 12/15 feet with a height of 8 feet, encompassing a total land area of 63/45 square feet. Thoughtful planning includes a toilet adjacent to the birthing room for the comfort of expectant mothers.
We're overjoyed to share that, through Human Care & Education e.V, the Merck Family Foundation has generously donated the funds needed to complete the entire construction. The initial phase, marked by a land-cutting smoke puja ceremony by Venerable Tulku Karma Rinpoche, began months ago.
